Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. Ofsted regulate and inspect schools and colleges to seek improvement in the service. They carry out large number of inspections and regulatory visits in England and publish their finding on their website.

Department for Education School Performance Tables

The Department for Education (DfE) Performance Tables provide information on pupil attainment and progress, attendance, school workforce and finance. They include percentages of achievement at the expected standard or above in reading, writing and maths in KS2, and the progress measure of each subject. You can use performance tables to compare schools and colleges in your area.

Levels of Achievement for Summer 2023

Each year children in Reception, Year 2 and Year 6 are assessed to determine their attainment level against the national average in aspects of English and maths. Children in Year 1 are tested for Phonics knowledge and children in Year 4 are tested on their Multiplication tables knowledge. Statutory testing was suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to school closures during the Coronavirus pandemic.
