Introduction

Our SEN Information Report – which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs in our school.

The SEN Information Report was reviewed and updated in August 2023.

Hesleden Primary School welcomes all children and values them as individuals, treating them equally and with respect. We believe that all children have the right to have their own particular needs recognised and addressed in order to achieve success. We believe that all teachers are teachers of children with SEND and it is therefore a whole school responsibility to ensure that these children’s needs are addressed. We aim for every pupil to fulfil their potential no matter what their background or personal circumstances. Our School is committed to anti-discriminatory practice to promote equality of opportunity and valuing diversity for all children and families.

This SEND Information Report should be read alongside the school’s SEND Policy, the Equalities Information and Objectives and the Accessibility Plan.
